Maps and shapefiles

Post by epidata » Tue Oct 19, 2004 6:17 pm

Are there any documentation notes or further help than looking into the map example for teechart pro 7 ?

It seems very much not documented.

Also there should be possibility to use shape files from an open standard.

Any news on documentation for MAP series ??

I queried about a year ago about more documentation on the use of map series with boundary/shape files.

No answer :( I assume there is no other documentation than the example map exe file demo ??

Hi epidata and Jens,

Have you looked at the maps example at the TeeChart Pro v7 examples folder (i.e.: C:\Program Files\Steema Software\TeeChart 704 for Delphi 7\Examples\TeeMaps)?

Map format supported is .SHP files. The ESRI Shape (SHP) file format is a vector format created by the Environmental System Research Institute. SHP files support point, multi-point, polygon, polyline and multi-patches. Map series can also use any file format provided you can read them. All map series is about are poligons.

The example I pointed you to shows you how to use those files with map series.
