When zooming and there is a brush assigned there seems to be a lot of flickering when drawing the zoom rectangle.

Yes, this is very unfortunate but is a by-product of using the ControlPaint.FillReversibleRectangle method to get an 'xor' type effect. I do believe that the flickering is somewhat reduced in comparison with v2, however!
