Regression Testing

We have a strip chart type application that displays cursors for each of the chart areas that look like a single verticle cursor. When the mouse is over the verticle cursor an icon is displayed indicating that the cusor can be moved in a horizontal direction. The latest build of TeeChart v3 now only displays that icon on the top cursor. I have been able to install the Feb build and confirm that it worked there. What is steema's regression test procedures? Are there prerelease builds that can be tested before pataches are released. This issue forces us to now remove the April build and go back to the February build.

Hi history,
Could you please send us a simple example project we can run "as-is" to reproduce the problem here? You can either post your files at news://
www.steema.net/steema.public.attachments newsgroup or at our
upload page.
Thanks in advance.

We don't have prerelease version available. We are constantly testing new versions before publishing them and if any broken feature is found we try to fix it immediatelly.

I uploaded the file.
it took a while but I was able to narrow it down to the custom cursors are not displaying the cursor icon when the rectangetool is active. I placed a warning message in the code where you can change the rectangle to and from active to nonactive.
you will need to load the stripchart.xml file for data and then check the display cursors. If the mouse is over the top cursor the the icon is displayed. If you move the mouse over the middle and bottom cursor the cursor icon does not display the horizontal movement icon.

Hi histry,
Thanks for the example project but I'm not able to reproduce the issue here. I'm not able to display any icon no matter if I enable or disable the rectangle tool. Could you also send a screenshot of the exact problem? I may not understand it. Should I also follow any specific step?
Thanks in advance.

Hi histry,
Thanks for the information. I finally could reproduce the problem here and been able to narrow it a little bit more. This happens when a Cursor tool is added in a chart where a Rectangle tool already exists and is active. I've added the defect (TF02013023) to the bug list to be fixed for next releases.

I just downloaded the latest version May 12 and would like to confirm that this issue was corrected.

It would look like the fix for this defect has not made this build. This was not in previous builds and was introduced in the last build. Any idea when we can expect to see this corrected.
Thanks.

Hi histry,
No, this issue hasn't been fixed yet and I can't give you an estimate date for a fix either. I recommend you to be aware at this forum or subscribe to our
RSS feed for new release announcements and what's fixed on them.
Thanks in advance.

I am not happy with the response. We spend considerable time replicating the process to reproduce this and believed that it would have been resolved in this release. Our product is scheduled for release within the next month will now go out with documented 3rd party defects.

This has been fixed in the maintenance release made public today:
