Upgrade TC ActX 5 to TC ActX 8 on VS2008 C++

Hello,

my question is very simple, maybe there is a topic that explain all but I can't find it.

I use TeeChart ActX 5 from years in an application based on Visual Studio C++. Today I use Visual Studio 2008 and .dsw file doesn't exist anymore in the application.

To upgrade TeeChart from 5 to 8 the update program needs the .dsw file...

Is there another way to upgrade it? (like change manually these files, etc.)

Thank you in advance for your answers.

Hi JSmey,

With TeeChart installer there are some upgrade utilities provided (you should have the respective shortcuts in TeeChart programs group). They allow upgrades between TeeChart versions directly from dsw and vcproj files.

If you have TeeChart versions 5, 6, 7 and 8 you should use the utilities to upgrade between contiguous versions (from 5 to 6, from 6 to 7 and from 7 to 8 ). If you don't have TeeChart 6 and 7 (you only have TeeChart 5 and 8 ) we can provide you the 5to6 and 6to7 utilities (note that it's not necessary to have any ocx registered to use these tools).

Thank you for your quick answer.

In shortcuts utilities I have used the "VB and VC++ project update utility"
This "seems" to allow me to pass from version 5 to 8 directly...

Saw on the upper of the application :
Steema Software SL. - Project upgrade utility TeeChart Pro v4,5,6,7 to TeeChart Pro v5,6,7,8 (where 4,5,6,7 etc is a combo box with the desire number).

I only have Tee Chart 5 and 8 installed on my computer.
So if the utility I try to use is not good, please provide me the other utilities.

But just to be clear : My problem in using this tool is that the "upgrade now" button is only enable when you select a .dsw file and that type of file doesn't exist anymore in my project due to migration to visual studio 2008...

So, if you provide me tools to upgrade contiguous version, will that problem be solved?

Haaa I understand beter what you wanted to tell me, I open the VC++ net upgrade tool and it seems to work.

So if you could provide me upgrade from 5 to 6 and 6 to 7 it would be great.

Thank you in advance.

I'm not sure this will work on the program :

My application is a VC++ application that used at the beginning a .dsw file.
At the migration to Visual Studio 2008, the file used for the applaction is a .sln file. This is not a VC++.NET application.

I'm not an expert in how all theses files works together, but do you think that modifiying .vcproj files (with the VC++.NET utility) will do the good migration to TeeChart 8?

I'm not an expert either, but probably these tools should work at your end. Please, try them, and do it step by step (5 to 6, 6 to 7, and finally 7 to 8). I've sent them to your registered mail.

Thank you Yeray,

I didn't receive your e-mail yet. Is it normal?
My boss bought the TeeChart8 but I have change the e-mail adress when registring into the forum.

Both my boss and I didn't received any e-mail (Junk mail checked).

My e-mail adress : julien.smeyers@tahcollege.com

If you could verify if it were send to that e-mail adress it would be nice.

Thank you in advance.

Hi JSmey,

I've verified the sent mails and found the one. Well, anyway we've just upload the files to the server to upgrade from v5 to v6 and from v6 to v7.
