We are investigating a more user-friendly way to fill teechart (V8.03) with data. Up until now our users could import data from files which weren't easy editable. To facilitate this need we are looking at the datasource-excel import option of a serie.
This looked very promissing; select a workbook and worksheet, define the datarange (and eventually labels) and import. Unfortunatly this doesn't work that way.

If a datarange, like a1 to b5 is used only the first datapoint in the a and b column is added as the y-value of the serie. The x-values are filled with the an index numbering.

Why isn't it possible to import x and y data via two colums ?
As it lookes now this import function is only ment to be used for single value series like a bar alltough (almost) all series support the addxy method.

BTW the documentation on this point is poor. [created:2008-08-27T12:54:52.000+01:00 reported by:narcis@steema.com reported in version:8.03 (TeeChart VCL)]
