The 100% of TeeChart Pro 5 VCL source code is available for an extra fee to the regular license price. The same source code supports Windows (Delphi and C++ Builder) and Linux (Kylix / CLX).

- Fast speed and small memory size consumption.

TeeChart graphical code speaks directly to Windows GDI API, thus avoiding the overhead of calling the VCL graphic objects methods.

Data is stored in dynamic arrays that are very closely mapped to memory. Accesing and modifying the arrays is almost as fast as the computer processor.

The code is stream-lined as much as possible to reduce unnecessary "if's" and increase internal speed, specially when re-drawing.

Memory consumption is reduced to a mininum, not allocating arrays when it's not necessary.

For example, point colors do not take memory if all are the same color.
Dynamic arrays also optimize the memory usage and do not need extra memory for "pointers" as real data is the only thing stored into the array.

Text labels, when not used, do not use any memory space.

- Divided in several modules (units) to increase the less as possible your executable size.

A chart using the basic styles ( line, bar, area, pie, point ), increases the executable in only 190Kb.
This includes all code necessary for printing, zooming, scrolling, managing the data, formatting, multiple-axes support, mouse click events, chart axes properties, legend, titles, series markers, 3D canvas methods, etc, etc.

As more chart styles, chart functions or tools, are added into the project, the executable gradually increases in size because every small object resides in different modules (units).

Packages (groups of units), are logically grouped depending on the category of each feature.
Developers can create custom packages to group modules as per their own needs.

TeeChart includes powerful and complete editor dialogs, for almost every component and sub-component. These editors are available at design-time and also at run-time.

All properties, methods and events are divided forming a hierarchy of objects and sub-objects, making easier to navigate through all of them.

The TeeCommander component (a toolbar with charting specific buttons) provides one-click access to TeeChart editors and common features.

The architecture of TeeChart is fully Object Oriented. Almost everything is an object or belongs to an object class. Properties, methods and events follow a general, consistent style.

Technically speaking, TeeChart Pro consists of 161 modules (units) and 90 form screens, totalling 798 object classes. Each class has properties that in many cases are other sub-classes, either from TeeChart API or from Borland's VCL set of classes.

The help file and documentation include a reference guide, an user guide, tutorials with detailed "how to" explanations, end-user help and a very big example project (with complete sources) that contains 265 forms. Each form in the example refers to a TeeChart object or specific property / method.

The TeeChart help file follows Borland's help system look and rules and it's completely integrated at design-time from the development IDE's.  Pressing F1 gives context help for almost all screens and source code elements.

A Team of persons (TeeChart customers and employees) does the translation of TeeChart screens and constant message strings to several languages. In version 4 the number of language translations is 11, and they can be downloaded free from our web site.

Translated dialogs and constants can be used both at design-time (if you recompile the packages), and at run-time by just recompiling your application.

There are 14 TeeChart Pro tutorials (in HTML web format), providing instructions and help for using the most common charting tasks in applications, like printing, zooming, exporting, internet charting and so on.

Thanks to Borland's big effort to port Delphi to Linux operating system (Kylix), we are close to release a TeeChart version for Linux. This will increase the TeeChart user base and that means your existing Windows projects using TeeChart will not require major rewriting if you port them to Linux.

We will try as much as possible to include almost all of the features found in the current Windows version, and to reduce to a minimum the necessary changes (if any) in your sources and forms.
This is a technical challenge we really like and are commited to.

Regarding next coming versions of Delphi and C++ Builder for Windows, TeeChart Pro will be released as soon as Borland releases them. This also includes releasing new features that can benefit TeeChart components.
